Eyewear

At Stolen Girlfriends Club, we love the planet as much as we love the good times.
For our latest collection we have committed to making our eyewear more responsibly made.
The time is now.

WHAT SETS US APART?

MAZZUCHELLI - BIODEGRADABLE ACETATE FRAMES
Our acetate glasses are made from a hypoallergenic bioplastic* called cellulose acetate. This material is a natural compound which derives from the fibres in cotton plants or wood pulp. Conventional acetates include a petroleum-based agent to ‘bond’ the materials together whereas ours uses a vegetable oil, making it an accredited** biodegradable material.

‘GREEN’ NYLON LENSES
Many lenses found in sunglasses today are Nylon, CR39 and Polycarbonate (PC), all made with petroleum and with zero environmental credibility. Our ‘Green Nylon’ lenses are made with 39% plant (castor) oils. Their performance is identical to conventional lenses, however they are energy saving and carbon sequestering lenses.

FIVE BARREL HINGES WITH UP TO 60% USED MATERIALS
All Stolen Girlfriends Club eyewear frames are equipped with German engineered five-barrel hinges. They are paired with coated ‘safety’ screws to minimize metal-on-metal rubbing and corrosion. Our hinge manufacturing partners have been environmentally certified since 1996. All metal waste is recycled and up to 60% of each hinge is tooled with used raw materials.

REFORESTATION INITIATIVE
For every Stolen Girlfriends Club frame made by our manufacturing partner, a tree is planted through reforestation charity Eden Projects.
