ABOUT OUR JEWELLERY

We design jewellery to be worn for decades, not seasons.
Each piece is crafted from precious metals — sterling silver, 18k gold-plated sterling silver, or solid gold — never brass or base metal commonly found in fashion jewellery.
The weight and strength of sterling silver and solid gold provide a stable foundation for sculptural settings and enduring wear.

Like all fine jewellery, these materials naturally develop character over time.
With proper care, your jewellery will continue to evolve while retaining its structure and form - and be treasured for a lifetime.

EVERYDAY CARE

All precious metals will respond to wear. Over time you may notice light surface marks, oxidation, or subtle shifts in finish. This is a normal part of wearing precious materials — not a fault, but a reflection of use.

A few simple habits will preserve the finish and longevity of your jewellery:

• Remove before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping

• Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, and chemicals - these can accelerate tarnishing and wear.

• Apply skincare and fragrance before putting jewellery on

• Handle with care — avoid impact with hard surfaces, especially for rings and stone-set pieces

• Do not store in bathrooms or humid environments

CLEANING

AT HOME

For most pieces:

  1. Use warm water with a small amount of mild soap
  2. Gently clean with a soft cloth or soft brush
  3. Rinse and dry thoroughly

Our polishing cloth can be used for silver to restore shine.

We recommend to have gemstone jewellery and stone settings cleaned by a goldsmith, as they are delicate and can be easily damaged if not handled properly.

PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

We recommend professional cleaning:

- Once a year for frequently worn pieces
- For all gemstone-set jewellery
- When settings need checking or pieces feel loose

SOLID STERLING SILVER JEWELLERY

Sterling silver is highly durable and ideal for daily wear. Our silver jewellery is crafted from solid 925 sterling silver. The silver we use is 92.5% solid silver. Our silver is 100% Nickel-free

To maintain:

  • Polish regularly with a silver polishing cloth
  • Clean with mild soap and warm water when needed
  • Avoid Contact: Remove jewellery before applying moisturisers, cosmetics, or perfumes.
  • Store Safely: Keep in the provided care pouch in a dry place.

    Sterling silver may tarnish over time — this is a natural reaction when silver is exposed to air, moisture, and skin oils. Tarnish is superficial and easily removed especially with a polishing cloth.

    By following these steps, your sterling silver will maintain its beauty for years.

GOLD VERMEIL & GOLD PLATED JEWELLERY

Our gold jewellery is crafted from solid sterling silver and finished with a thick layer of 18k gold. We use 2.5 microns for rings - known as gold vermeil, and 1.5 microns for earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Gold vermeil refers to a solid sterling silver base coated with at least 2.5 microns of gold, offering a higher quality alternative to standard plating.

Additionally, we use a custom gold tone, unique to Stolen Girlfriends Club; developed to match seamlessly with our solid 9k gold — a slightly paler, more refined hue.

To maintain:

  • Avoid water, sweat, and chemicals
  • Remove before washing hands, swimming, or exercise
  • Do not use silver polishing cloths (these will strip gold plating)
  • Gently wipe with a soft cloth after wear
  • Store Properly: Use the Stolen Girlfriends Club pouch and box to prevent scratches

Gold plating can naturally soften with lots of wear, and may require replating to restore its original finish. Please contact us for a replating service if required.

9K GOLD JEWELLERY

We chose 9 karat gold jewellery for our collection for its resilience and timeless beauty. To maintain maximum lustre, please follow these steps:

  • Wash your 9 karat jewellery in warm water with a mild soap once a week. – Remove your jewellery before applying cosmetics, perfumes and moisturisers. – Avoid wearing your 9 karat jewellery in swimming pools.
  • Have your jewellery professionally cleaned once a year. This is a service we offer in all of our Flagship stores.
